- "This isn't just a war, this is a threat to our way of life. Today, men are dying--all because of corrupt minds and impossible dreams; because a few people decided to split humanity in half in an attempt to unite it. This is much more than a war--this is the end of all things."
- —Captain Jeremy Cooper, First Battle of Earth
Captain Jeremy Cooper is the commander of Specter Battalion and leader of the near-legendary Specter Squadron.
Background[]
Jeremy Cooper began his career as an ordinary student in school in the United States. At 17, he and his entire class were transfered to Reach for the final two years of high school. His parents, however, did not accompany him. At 19, he and most of his classmates enrolled in a military college. Absent from this class was Ashley Emmerson who remains an adamant lover of Cooper.
During his schooling, Cooper trained separately with other future ONI operatives. This stealth training was encouraged by his parents. His father also gave him hands-on advice and critique. At age 12, Jeremy began to modify his learned abilities and create his own methods of self-defense. His enrollment in a military school at grade 6 gave Cooper a good military foundation.
It is notable that even at this age Jeremy had a great sense of national pride and patriotism. He adored the great military-led expeditions into space and longed to be one of the great space marines. His desire to become somewhat of a symbol of freedom would later become realized when he donned a recognizable helmet and suit of armor.
Biography[]
Jeremy was born to two loving parents in December of 2514. Major Sean and Dr. Anne Cooper were both involved in the military on Earth. Sean Cooper was part of the UNSC Marine Corps and was among the first to decipher and investigate the mysterious alien signals of later years. Jeremy's mother, Anne, was part of the Special Weapons division of the Navy and was one of the best in her field of communications. Sean and Anne were perfect choices for investigating signal errors, mysterious transmissions, and other such issues, but the two also became involved in ONI's secret programs.
Jeremy was able to learn plenty of information from his parent's work, especially from his father. Sean was not only an officer but an experience Marine in the infantry.
